We arrived back in Seoul on Sunday night, the 3rd January. Quite different weather from Australia. The weather in Australia was excellent, late twenties to early thirties, in Seoul it was way below zero.
We arrived late in the evening, so almost immediately went to bed. When we woke up in the morning, it had been snowing heavily and was still snowing. Turned out to be the most snow Seoul has seen in over 100 years, nearly 30cm of snow.
Carla was supposed to go and get Storm from the kennel and I was meant to get a taxi to work, but that didn't work out. No taxi's were running and with that much snow the roads were so slippery. After walking down the road trying to catch a taxi and slipping in the snow on the way, I came back home and decided I didn't want Carla to go driving in that weather.
I eventually went to get Storm, which wasn't so bad for me as my car has 4wd, so I could drive quite well, but the rest of the people and the roads were a nightmare.
The rest of the week didn't snow, it just got colder. the temperatures were -14c and thenwith the wind chill, made this much lower. Our heating in the house also turned off. Seems to happen every year just as we get a cold snap, so for two days we didn't have heating...
