Bikes

We have been in Germany for just over a month now, and the area is perfect for cycling, both road and mountain biking. I already have a road bike and cannot wait for our shipment to arrive now, but we also started to think about getting mountain bikes. I have one, but it is a very cheap supermarket special, so it was time to upgrade. After looking around for a couple of weeks, and doing lots of searches and comparisons on the internet, we went to BikeMax, a bike shop in Weiterstadt that we had been to a few weeks before.

After walking around the shop for a while, and then discussing and asking lots of questions, we found a bike for Carla. First we tested it out for a while (Corratec X-vert, Miss C, Shimano Deore componets), and then hummed and haaad for a while more, eventually we decided to wait and start looking for my bike...
Well, I already had an idea what I was looking for (Shimano Deore XT components, ... for those who don't know, these are really good parts that usually cost a fortune to buy, they are the gear changers, brakes, etc)
Well it didn't take me long to find the bike I was interested in, only the price was the problem. I tested it out for a bit, but knew from the start that this was not going to be the problem. (It is a Univega Aplina HT-LTD 2011, with full Shimano Deore XT components, Rockshox suspension, disc brakes,... let me stop bragging now)

Ultimately I folded, and we bought the bikes. Problem was Brandon! What were we going to do with him, we could buy a seat that fitted to the back of the bikes, or we could buy a "croozer", a little buggie / trailer that pulls behind the bike and the children sit in it(add 400 Euro!), we decided to get it, one so that we could go riding that afternoon, but also when the new one arrives there is space for her too.
Well, we walked out of the shop with two bikes and a croozer and a salesman with a big smile ( and a biggggg dent in our pockets...). Next problem was getting all of this into the car, long story short, we couldn't, so I hitched the croozer to my new bike and rode home, while Carla took the car and the other bike with Brandon.
